"Scenery in Reading, Reading Addiction on the Road" Sharing Session

The Taipei International Book Exhibition, which had been suspended for two years due to the pandemic, was successfully held this year and concluded on June 7. A total of 31 countries and 364 publishers participated, showcasing ten innovative and ten themed exhibition halls. It brought together 621 popular writers from home and abroad for over 500 exciting reading events. Coupled with the book vouchers offered by the organizer, the Ministry of Culture, both the number of visitors and sales at this year's exhibition exceeded the expectations of participating exhibitors.

In addition to the physical book sales, the reading sharing sessions, which gather many excellent speakers, are also a highlight of each exhibition. The special event "Landscapes in Reading, Reading Addiction on the Journey," co-organized by Walk Taiwan and the Taipei International Book Exhibition, was personally hosted by Li Ming-tsung, the chief planner of Walk Taiwan. It invited singer-songwriter Enno Cheng and writer Hung Chen-yu as panelists to share an unforgettable trip to Taiwan and the literary companions that accompanied this journey. On a weekend night, the two panelists shared their respective stories, leading the audience through time and space, journeying together to the moss-covered and misty forests of Nantou, and to that sleepless night in a mountain lodge accompanied by heavy rain and snoring. The speakers then extracted the essence from their books, recounting how the five-sense memories brought by these stories intertwined with words, leaving traces in the lives of the two panelists.
